Memorial Day is many things to many people, but should be one thing to all people, and that is a day to remember those that have given all for our freedom. I am thankful for those that have served and their families, as well as those that serve now. I pray that my daughter, married to a Marine, will never have to sacrifice the way so many have; losing a loved won in the continued venture to secure enduring freedom.
For so many, this day signifies the beginning of summer; the season of freedom.... most everything we know changes just a little at least to provide some summer freedom. School lets out, vacations from work occur, toes are freed from socks and shoes to open air sandals, windows are opened to let fresh air in, skin is bared to seek the sun, and the kitchen has moved to the grill. It is a liberating time, moving right into the celebration of the birth of this great nation on July 4th. Memorial Day is a super way to kick off the season of freedom by remembering those that perserved it for us. Let the season of Freedom Begin!~~ Beth
